    1. Hi Ben,

Yes, we’re Crossfire enthusiasts here! GREAT for long-range (the best actually), cost-effective with the AIO Sixty9 Rx and VTX. Easy setup in Betaflight.

Reliable signal, low latency, two-way telemetry, easy config, all make it very attractive for serious hobbyists (& others!).

      -Fred.

  1. Oooh, a digital build. Can’t wait to see the price tag. Luv them, but ouch.

And I DO like the new blog orientation bro! Much simpler to review & reply. Thanks.

  2. We’re beginning work on a DIGITAL build:

    iFlight Nazgul XL10 10″ DIGITAL

We’ve had requests to provide “build imagery” along the way. We’ll try to comply! It will probably be a PRODUCT listing that is “Coming Soon” or something like that, with the photos there.

  3. Hey John, yes, I had a few requests to re-orient this blog to have the NEWEST comments on TOP, then be able to POST on top as well.

This way you don’t have to scroll all the way down before you can post. You can still reply to an individual post and it will embed it, but most people start a fresh comment, so the box at top makes more sense.

I hope you guys like it!

  4. Hello Everyone. I just found this site. I’m new to the hobby but like it very much. All except for the legislations… remote ID I think it is. Any discussion of that? What do I need to do to be safe or legal?

Your builds look great. Seeing your upcoming builds/frames will be good.

    Graham

    1. Hi Graham! That’s a big question!

Yes, “Remote ID” is the law of the Land. It requires you to have a device that sends information about you, the pilot, and your drone, its location ,etc. The best RID device these days is the Holy Stone: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0CGTTNJXL/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It’s reasonably priced. You really just need one, that you switch out to whatever you’re flying. We 3d print holders that are easily swapped in and out.

      I hope that helps!
      -Fred.

  5. Ron,

I just checked that frame out: sweet! We’d love to build with it. Just give us a shout. + it may just make it onto our short list of new builds!!

    Joe.

  6. Hello All,

Let me introduce myself: I’m Joe, Sr Engineer, working with Fred.

I’ve been building and flying drones for more than ten years. I have my Part 107 Pilot’s license, an “FAA certified commercial drone pilot”. I do a lot of the flight testing for our builds. And the variety makes it a blast!

Happy to help any and all along the way. Cheers.

    Joe

  7. Oh, to further illustrate our vast VARIETY of drone solutions, and international impact, we got an order from members of:

    IPSC (International Practical Shooting Confederation)

They’ve added DRONES to the competition, so we’ll build a couple prototypes to start. Fun stuff!

  8. Hi John. Glad to see you here.

I’m in love w/ the Lumenier frame as well. I’m going to build a 7″ shortly too.

I’ll start a separate topic here for “Digital HD vs Analog”, so we can continue to discuss. I’ve gotten some offline comments already. Happy flying!

  9. Hi Guys. New to this site, “medium” experience in drones/building.

I’ve seen a guy w/ a Lumenier 10″ and it’s an impressive flight! I’m excited to see your Premium Lumenier. That must be totally BOSS.

    1. Jeff, If you’re new to drones, I recommend the Darwin. It’s just a simpler build to get to know. A bit easier to fly as well. The Lumenier is a great frame, as it gets a lot of attention from us. (I fly it regularly). It’s also a good choice for the money.

      1. I’m pretty new. I like the size of the Lumenier. Is it easy to fly? And I’m happy with your use of Crossfire. I’ve got a Tango 2 Pro, so that will be awesome to be ready to go with your builds.

    2. I’ll jump in here. I have one of Fred’s Lumeniers. It’s REALLY NICE! The build quality is tops, and she flies smoothly. I don’t know much about the Darwins, but the Lum is a great choice.

  10. Hi, I’m new to drones, so I looked over your beginner type builds. And I researched the Darwins a bit. They look GREAT! Looking forward to seeing those on your site. I may start buildilng on my own, but it’s an obvious decision to have you guys build my first couple. That way i can see what a “solid” build is. I hear very good things about you Fred.

    Bring on the Darwins!

  12. Monica, thanks for reaching out. (We’ve been chatting off-line). For the masses, the Lumenier build is HERE:

New build, spec’ed out for the U.S. military, is a LUMENIER QAV-RXL2 10″ LONG RANGE.

I’m fitting it with TBS Crossfire, and Brotherhobby Tornado T5 Pro 3115 900kv Motor. Complete specs I’ll post shortly, and it will be in the Shop pages as well. I’m very excited about this build! Most of you won’t need to meet the specs required by the Millitary, but it’ll give you an idea of what she can do!

    Basic requirements:
    Payload: 850g
    Payload Size: 6”L x 3”W x 1”H (mounted above the frame)
    Flight Time: > 25mins
    Range: 10km

  13. I like this frame. Do you have an update on this build? I love that 10″ Lumenier for long range too. Another sweet frame.

Nice work here. I’ll be checking back regularly.

  14. Hey All! Just updating you on the latest FRAME I’m working with:

    Botgrinder Demibot Freestyle

It’s awesome! Really well designed. As I build, I’ll update w/ some chosen parts. Haven’t decided digital or analog yet, so we’re just in the planning stages ATM. Open to thoughts on build components!

    Keep flying!
    -Fred.
